Job Summary
The student employee's main duties lie in the management and execution of the
policies and procedures of the Baker Family Fitness Center and Looney Complex,
set forth and regulated by Missouri Western State University (MWSU).
Essential Duties
Validating MWSU ID's and memberships upon arrival through the Banner
system.
Administering and checking required facility paperwork (i.e. assisting
with record-keeping)
Enforcing policies and procedures to patrons specific to assigned
location.
Maintaining the cleanliness of the equipment and facilities.
Tracking equipment inventory through the Banner system.
All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
MWSU Student
Degree Seeking
At least an overall 2.0 GPA
Enrolled at least part-time
May need to qualify for Federal Work Study
Preferred Qualifications
Exercise Science, Recreation, or Sports Management majors;
or a strong background in health, fitness, nutrition, or management.
Currently CPR/AED certified.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Be able to assert authority to peers, faculty, staff, and community.
Good communication skills.
Must be able to assert authority to peers, faculty, staff, and community
patrons.
Strong customer service skills.
Physical Demands Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force
occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10
pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Additional Demands
Need to be able to participate in orientation the week of 4-24-23 to be able
to work over the summer months.

Hours of Work
Anticipate 20 hour per week.
Hours may vary.
