The Department of Medicine are seeking to recruit a Reception Apprentice to join the Building Services Team in the new Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Heart and Lung Research Institute (VPD-HLRI). The VPD-HLRI draws together the NHS, academia, industry and charity to create a world-leading research environment delivering high-impact research tackling global cardiovascular and respiratory diseases some of the world's biggest killers. The HLRI, home to approximately 400 staff, contains laboratories, a Clinical Research Facility (CRF), office space as well as an assortment of seminar and conference rooms.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced staff to gain practical experience and a qualification.
The role holder will form part of a two-person reception team to ensure core reception service provision is delivered during the busiest time of the day. The apprenticeship is for a fixed term of 18 months. During that time, you will receive full support and training from the department. The training provider (Cambridge Regional College) will conduct regular workplace visits from your Assessor. You will complete a Customer Service Level 2 apprenticeship.
You should be educated to Maths and English GCSE's or the equivalent at Grade C/4 or above. You must have experience of basic computer programmes, e.g., word processing, spreadsheets and email programmes, coupled with good organisation, communication and time management skills.
