Job description

Research & Development Fellow for VFX & Virtual Production Pipelines

Full time, 35 hours per week

Fixed-term for a period of 60 Months

Grade 7 (£37,099 - £44,263)

The CoSTAR Realtime Lab led by Abertay University is part of the UK R&D Network for Creative Technology. The Realtime Lab will be co-located between Water's Edge in Dundee and Edinburgh College of Art. The project brings together video games development expertise in Dundee's globally significant games cluster with world leading applied Research & Development at Abertay University and film, television and animation production in Edinburgh with University of Edinburgh's world leading expertise in machine learning and artificial intelligence.

The University now seeks to appoint to appoint a Research and Development Fellow.

Reporting to the Director of the CoSTAR Realtime Lab you will work with Creative Industries partners to support creative and technical innovation through collaborative research and development with industry and sector partners that will deliver improved performance, across production pipelines, increase accessibility to intelligent and automated systems while continuing to support the creative practice and quality of creative output in the UK media and entertainment sector.

The role requires postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience in a relevant industry role. Please refer to the candidate briefs for more information about the roles.
