About the post:
The Quality Enhancement Office (QEO) is a specialised professional unit
within RCSI that supports the implementation of the RCSI quality
assurance/improvement strategy by coordinating activities and collecting the
data needed to continually assure and develop the quality of all aspects of
educational delivery. Institutional research, the gathering of quantitative
and qualitative data to support evidence-based quality assurance and quality
improvement processes, is central to RCSI operations. Value is placed upon the
views of students and staff, sought through regular surveys.
We are seeking a Quality Enhancement Data Analyst to enhance our team. In this
role, you will be responsible for the collection of relevant data from
students, staff & other stakeholders. You will also be expected to analyse
data and generate insights to support local, national & international
regulatory requirements and contribute to the delivery of quality enhancement
initiatives and decision making at all levels within the institution.
Job Responsibilities
Developing, maintaining & administering routine and bespoke online survey
instruments.
Conducting routine & bespoke processing & analyses of survey (& other
relevant) data to gain maximum insights.
Communicating results and key insights (such as trends and emerging
topics) in written / oral formats to a variety of relevant stakeholders
up to senior management level.
Managing access and distribution of routine and bespoke reports in line
with department policies and procedures
Liaising with key stakeholders (e.g. Schools, Students, Faculties,
Departments & Overseas) to provide support & advice and to ensure that
data needs are met and insights are maximised.
Managing processes and stakeholders to ensure that the survey feedback
loop is closed and resulting enhancements are communicated to students and
other stakeholders.
Overseeing initiatives to enhance survey engagement and identifying and
implementing opportunities to enhance survey processes.
Supporting the wider work of the Quality Enhancement Office including
participation in activities such as internal & external quality reviews
and events, engagement with relevant educational & professional bodies
(e.g. Irish Medical Council, Higher Education Authority, Quality &
Qualifications Ireland), implementing strategic projects, supporting
quality enhancement & showcasing the work of the QEO internally &
externally.
Ensuring that data is processed appropriately in line with GDPR, consent,
ethical and confidentiality requirements.
Engagement in external and internal committees, as required e.g. RCSI Data
Governance Group, RCSI Quality Committee.
Knowledge & Experience – ( Essential):
Educated to level 8 (Batchelor's) degree level (preferably in a
quantitative discipline)
Experience with online survey platforms
Proven experience with a variety of software packages including one or
more statistical / programming packages (e.g. R, Python, SPSS, Stata,
etc.)
Practical data analytics experience including (but not limited to):
Importing & processing data from multiple formats (e.g. .csv, .xlsx,
.txt, etc.)
Visualising, summarising & reporting data
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to express technical information clearly to a wide range of people
through both written and verbal communication.
Desirable Skills
Experience of working within the education and/or professional training
sector(s) (preferably 3rd level)
Experience of working within quality assurance
Experience in the design of surveys / questionnaires
