GM-17 Quality Coordinator (Maternity Leave Cover)
Contract: Full Time/ Specified Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Speciality Products and Services the purpose of this
role is to provide maternity cover for the Quality Co-ordinator. The role
involves being part of a team to manage and operate the Quality Management
System for Tyndall National Institute covering both ISO9001 and ISO17025.
Key Responsibilities
Support and operate the QMS and related document control system, including
review of requirements when new versions of the ISO 9001 standard are
published, ensuring ongoing compliance.
Work with groups within Tyndall and external customers to develop,
implement and manage ISO17025.
Preparation of reports and materials for various periodic quality
management reviews
Prepare regular QMS, CAPA reports and KPI metrics for management review.
Assist in the continued development, implementation, operation and
promotion of the QMS, including necessary interfaces with all Tyndall
staff.
Implement reviews aimed at reducing documentation in the system & ensuring
documentation is current & appropriate.
Monitor and maintain Quality Manual
Devise, co-ordinate and complete audits and their associated reports in
line with the annual internal Audit Schedule
Provide QMS / ISO induction to new joiners
QMS training for researchers and general Tyndall staff as per HR training
schedule
Ensure all activities are compliant with the Tyndall Quality Management
System.
Carry out any additional duties as may reasonably be required within the
general scope and level of the post.
Essential Criteria
Diploma / Degree in Quality, Business or Engineering / Science discipline
Typically 5 years' experience in Quality Coordination or Document Control
in a regulated environment
Experience in conducting ISO9001 internal audits
Working knowledge of electronic QMS tools such as QT9
Thorough understanding of ISO 9001 requirements essential and ISO17025 an
advantage
Excellent attention to detail
Confident and articulate communicator both verbally and in writing
Strong Word and excel skills
Strongly self-motivated

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of developing and
implementing innovative solutions to complex challenges.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead projects
from planning through to successful completion.
Effective communication skills, capable of working closely with clients,
managing expectations, and contributing to internal project teams.
A commitment to continuous learning and development, both personally and
for junior staff, with the ability to mentor and lead by example in best
laboratory practices.
A proactive and collaborative approach to work, with the ability to
undertake multiple tasks simultaneously and deliver results in a timely
manner.
Appointment may be made on the Grade 5 scale (B) €48,810 - €59,877 per
annum. Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public
sector pay policy.
