Overview
This position is responsible for developing a quality assurance testing
strategy and leading the quality testing review of software applications. The
QA Lead will be responsible for the selection of test automation and manual
testing tools.
Duties include working closely with the Custom Solutions and Integration
development team, business analyst and business partners for the development
and execution of test cases as well as the creation of automation processes.
The QA Lead is expected to oversee all aspects of quality assurance including
establishing metrics, staying abreast of industry best-practices and
developing new tools and processes to ensure quality standards are created and
goals are met.
The QA Lead will be a hands-on tester responsible for writing test cases,
executing a test strategy and implementing it.
The QA Lead will work under the supervision of the Custom Solutions and
Integrations' Director.
This is a 2-year, FT benefits-eligible term position.
Responsibilities
Analyzing the teams' applications and existing technical processes in
order to recommend testing strategy and tool/s.
Creating and owning formal QA processes and updating them so that
industry-accepted best practices are used.
Establishing QA metrics and reporting.
Creating and owning the end-to-end QA test strategy inclusive of test
documentation, test data and tools.
Setting the direction for quality assurance within the CSI organization.
Overseeing projects and prioritizing Quality Assurance tasks in
conjunction with CSI projects.
Creating job descriptions for the two Quality Assurance Engineers.
Hiring the Quality Assurance Engineers and getting them onboarded.
Management of the Quality Assurance Engineers.
When provided access to personal, proprietary and/or otherwise
confidential data, maintain such data in the strictest confidence and
follows procedures to ensure the privacy, security and proper use of data.
Proactively participate in the user story review process for the purpose
of generating functional test cases.
Generate test plans and document test cases.
Create and own reusable test data. Responsible for keeping the test date
up to date.
Develop test case automations and execute tests.
Conduct manual and automated testing in alignment with project sprint
cycles.
Identify, report, track, and verify defects.
Communicate defects in priority order to the development team.
Manage the monitoring and tracking of the defect cycle until timely
resolution.
Report test execution results.
Orchestrate User Acceptance Testing and production releases.
Support the Tech Lead in all Quality Assurance matters.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
7-10 years of relevant work experience
Creating repeatable and maintainable automated test suites.
Developing and managing QA tools.
Testing various applications, services and user interfaces.
Test driven development.
Software development lifecycle and best practices pertaining to quality
assurance.
With project methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
In various defect management techniques and systems.
Acting as a liaison between the QA and development teams.
Detail oriented and receptive to giving and receiving direct feedback.
Excellent planning and organization skills with the ability to juggle
projects and priorities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work
effectively in diverse teams and customers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Performs a variety of complicated tasks with a wide degree of creativity.
Ability to offer alternative approaches to achieve customer goals.
Education : Bachelor's degree and/or 7+ years of work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in SonarQube, Jira
Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Java, Javascript, Typescript, Jenkins
Maven, Junit, Jest, SQL, Relational Databases, Oracle, Python, Web
Accessibility, Web, HTTP, REST, HTML, CSS
