About National Office of Clinical Audit (NOCA)
The National Office of Clinical Audit (NOCA) was established in 2012 as a key enabler of clinical effectiveness which in turn is a key component of patient safety and quality. The integration of best evidence in service provision, through clinical effectiveness processes, promotes healthcare that is up to date, effective and consistent. Clinical effectiveness processes include guidelines, audit, and practice guidance. NOCA establishes and maintains national clinical audits across several clinical areas including intensive care, major trauma, hip fractures, arthroplasty, and mortality. NOCA is funded by the Health Service Executive (HSE) Office of the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) and operationally supported by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. The purpose of NOCA national clinical audits is to improve the quality of care provided to patients and to improve their outcomes.
This role will support the quality assurance and information governance activities at NOCA.
Job Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance and Risk Management
Provide support to the Quality Assurance Manager with the planning and delivery of the annual assurance plan including
• coordination of NOCA controlled documents and administration of the NOCA Q-Pulse instance
• staff training record maintenance
• conduct of NOCA internal audit including follow up on any corrective actions
• support the management of any incidents, complaints
• Liaise with NOCA colleagues to ensure all audit-specific risks are reflected in corporate risk register, follow up with risk owners on status of actions to mitigate risks
Project Management Office support
• Support the NOCA team in the use of NOCA project management tools and processes.
• Support NOCA change management through review proposed changes for impact on NOCA controlled documents, and liaise with document owners
• Coordinate, track and report on lessons learnt cycles
• Track and report on value improvement and efficiency initiatives
Information Governance
• Provide support to the Information Manager with the planning, development, management, and implementation of data privacy impact assessments.
• Day to day administration and support for information governance queries, tracking and responding to queries, data incident notification, ad hoc internal and external queries, assisting with root cause analysis and drafting solutions.
• Maintain and manage accurate records and logs of information governance activities to facilitate oversight, analysis, and reporting.
• Assist in the development information governance training material and distribution across the organisation.
• Assist the Information Manager in the coordination of information governance policies and procedures, training, and administration of same.
• Support the Information Manager with administrative work for the function.
Self-Development
Complete self-directed training such as SNOMED-CT training, Fundamentals of clinical audit, GDPR. Certifications in relevant areas will be supported.
