If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Purchase Orders Officer to be a part of NDM Finance Shared Service Centre, at the Nuffield Department of Medicine. Processing transactional finance for 14 units within NDM, you will deliver high levels of service and customer support to stakeholders, while fostering a “right first time” culture.

You will be responsible for ensuring all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with the University and external financial regulations, contributing to improvement of processes by ensuring SOPs are up to date and adhered to. You will oversee automated report distributions of open orders to goods-in staff to ensure timely receipting of goods in Oracle at point of delivery. You will review requests for Oracle Shopper access and support units with the hierarchical structure set up of any new departments. Liaising with end users, Grants and Finance teams is a core part of the role, along with maintaining good working relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders. Additionally, you will be proactive in identifying issues and proposing solutions.

It is essential that you are educated to at least GCSE standard or equivalent (grades C/4), with evidence of numerical ability together with suitable experience of working in a relevant financial administration role, including experience of working with computerised financial systems. You will be competent using computerised financial systems and Microsoft Packages, in particular Excel, and you will have excellent communication and time management skills. Having passion to take or be willing to undertake AAT or other similar qualification is highly desirable.
