This position involves lecturing in an area relevant to the Physical Science and Engineering Division.
As an Instructional Assistant Professor you will:
· Lead, plan, and deliver high-quality lectures for an agreed number of courses within the division using a range of contemporary learning approaches.
· Mark and assess student assignments, tests, examinations, and projects; moderate assessment issues, and submit final grades.
· Oversee the development and maintenance of relevant documentation pertaining to course information.
· Be responsible for the ongoing evaluation for all courses you teach.
· Work with other academic staff in ensuring the suite of postgraduate-level courses offered by the division remain up-to-date and relevant.
· Design innovative curricula and develop learning materials and resources in collaboration with other colleagues within the division as appropriate.
· Oversee all aspects relating to the Assessment Examinations taken by all incoming master-level students into the division.
· Serve as an Academic Adviser for a group of students.
· Participate in assessing the academic potential of students who apply to the division, including the initial screening of candidates and performing one-on- one academic interviews.
QualificationsYou will have a relevant qualification and capabilities as per the following:
· PhD in an area relevant to the Physical Science and Engineering Division.
· Demonstrated ability/experience in delivery of lectures and tutorials.
· Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team, together with the capability to work alone/independently and meet objectives.
· Demonstrated ability to establish effective relationships with academic staff, students, and other relevant stakeholders.
· Highly developed oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Highly developed ability to organise and prioritise workload in a busy/demanding environment and complete competing work tasks within specified time frames.
· Demonstrated ability in working with students from diverse backgrounds.
