    Your New Team

    Join the Gladstone Region engaging in action Together (GRT) Backbone Team. GRT is a Stronger Places, Stronger People initiative of the Australian Government in partnership with Queensland Government and local partners. The role is employed at CQUniversity and reports to the GRT Operations Manager .

    Your New Role

    In this role you will support the GRT Backbone Team in delivery of high leverage identified within the operations plan, and support tasks to be actioned and completed within required timeframes. You will maintain the operational plan ensuring all tasks are tracked, updated and completed and provide support to a range of projects, events and activities to meet project objectives, including development of processes, checklists and tools that support successful quality and timely delivery. You will coordinate and provide professional support to meetings, workshops and events including preparation of agendas, surveys, minutes and ensure post-event activities occur including following up action items, drafting communications, identifying reporting outcomes.

    You will work closely with the administration and finance team to organise venues, catering, logistics, finance, scheduling, general correspondence, invites and rsvp tasks. You will support data collection, collation and data entry, record keeping and research activities. You will manage stakeholder relationships with internal and external customers and act as a first point of contact with a high degree of professionalism and initiative.

    Position Requirements
  • Commitment to the vision and values of GRT and act at all times in the best interests of the Gladstone Region community.
  • Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of an diploma and at least two years subsequent relevant work experience (eg. Business Administration /Project Management etc); or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the work undertaken by the GRT team and how it impacts on the Gladstone Region community.
  • Familiarity with first nations communities and history within the Australian or local context.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in providing professional and timely support to projects and/or events including tracking and monitoring of milestone, budgets etc, and effective coordination of logistics relating to events.
  • Proven ability to operate in a cooperative and collaborative team-based environment, including contributing to the achievements of team goals, KPIs, and project outcomes.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills that demonstrate a strong focus on developing strong relationships with key stakeholders within the community.
  • Proven time management skills with ability to work autonomously to achieve goals in a fast paced work environment.
  • Proficient in the operation of computers including detailed knowledge of business support software (word processing, spread-sheeting, database systems and email) and large corporate information systems.
  • Proven ability to think creatively and implement strategies to streamline work.
