About the Role:

Curtin University is seeking an experienced Project Manager within the Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success (ACSES) to lead the Student Outreach and Tracker Project, a national initiative designed to improve the visibility and coordination of university outreach and strengthen evidence-informed planning.

The project will bring together contextual and university outreach data to support shared planning and inform the development of an interactive mapping tool. It will also explore the feasibility of linking outreach participation with future higher education outcomes, helping universities better understand and respond to the needs of students and communities, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds.

You’ll take a lead role across project planning and delivery, stakeholder engagement, data collection and standardisation, reporting and evaluation. You’ll also develop data visualisations and dashboards that turn complex information into practical insights to support stakeholder planning and decision-making.

Working under the supervision of the ACSES Data Program Director, you’ll collaborate with participating universities, the Project Steering Group, ACSES staff and a broad range of stakeholders to deliver the project and its outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of the project from commencement through to completion, ensuring key milestones and outcomes are achieved.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, evaluation approaches, budgets, communication strategies and other project documentation.
  • Build productive relationships with participating universities and a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the collection, standardisation and integration of outreach, school and community data.
  • Support the development and implementation of data sharing arrangements with participating universities.
  • Lead the student tracking feasibility stream, including investigation of legal, privacy, ethical, technical and governance considerations associated with linking outreach participation data to future higher education outcomes.
  • Identify and manage project risks, resources, budgets and procurement requirements.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, focus groups and consultation activities to support project outcomes.
  • Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes and translate findings into clear reports, data visualisations and other project outputs.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project staff and contractors where required.
Who We Are Looking For/Selection Criteria:

You’re an experienced project professional who enjoys bringing people, data and ideas together to deliver meaningful outcomes. You’re confident managing complex projects and competing priorities, building relationships across diverse stakeholder groups and turning complex information into clear, practical insights.
  1. Extensive project management experience, supported by relevant qualifications or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  2. Demonstrated experience delivering complex projects within defined timelines, budgets and resource constraints.
  3. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholder groups.
  4. Experience managing data projects involving data collection, integration, governance, reporting, and visualisation.
  5. Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with sound judgement and attention to detail.
  6. Experience monitoring and evaluating project progress and outcomes.
  7. Experience in university outreach, student support, education access or related activities.
Desirable
  • Experience working with education, outreach, student equity or related administrative datasets.
  • Experience using and developing maps, dashboards or data visualisations to generate stakeholder-facing insights.
Role Requirements:
  1. As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
  2. Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction
