The York Policy Engine (TYPE) is the University of York's specialist policy engagement unit. TYPE connects people, ideas and evidence to drive policy change in the pursuit of public good, aiming to strengthen academic- policymaker engagement and the adoption of evidence generated at York into policy. TYPE is based in the Research, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange Directorate (RIKE). RIKE is the Professional Services Directorate responsible for developing and supporting all the University of York's strategies for research and knowledge exchange, and for providing comprehensive support to York's academic Departments in their research and impact activities.
Role
We are seeking an experienced project manager to help establish the new Born in Bradford Centre for Social Change. The University of York is a significant partner in the high profile and world-leading research programme, Born in Bradford (BiB). Born in Bradford is an internationally-recognised research programme which aims to find out what keeps families healthy and happy by tracking the lives of over 40,000 Bradfordians. Findings are used to develop new and practical ways to work with families and health professionals to improve the health and wellbeing of our communities.
BiB is investing in its partnership with the University of York to create the Born in Bradford Centre for Social Change. The Centre will focus on accelerating and amplifying the health, social and economic research and impact generated within the University of York-Born in Bradford partnership. The aim of the Centre is to enhance the research and policy impact of BiB to inform local and national social policy for public health improvement.
Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

Substantial project management experience with an understanding of developing and implementing systems and processes within a complex research programme/project
Experience of organising events (online, hybrid and in person), including meetings, workshops, conferences and webinars
A track record of managing budgets, ideally involving the distribution of funding to multiple sub-projects
Experience of working with stakeholders from different institutions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that support engagement with staff, external stakeholders, and funding bodies
Strong and highly-effective problem solving skills
Highly organised and efficient, with the ability to work well under pressure
