Applications are invited for appointment as Project Manager/Assistant Project Manager (at the rank of Senior Research Assistant /Research Assistant I) at the Centre for Quantitative History (CQH) of the Faculty of Business and Economics (several posts) (Ref.: 525751 ) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

About the Centre for Quantitative History (CQH) The Centre for Quantitative History (CQH) is a focal institution for coordinating and conducting big data-based historical inquiries, hosted at the HKU Business School in collaboration with the Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences. The focus of the Centre is on the study of China's economic, financial, social, and other history. It was founded as an Area of Excellence designated and funded by the Research Grants Council of the University Grants Committee of Hong Kong. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support for multiple research projects.
  • Ensure effective project branding and develop and implement effective communications strategy for the public and academia.
  • Oversee all aspects of the event planning process, from budgeting, vendor coordination, registration management, logistics and accommodation arrangements.
  • Prepare project documents including protocols, reports, publications, articles for social media and website contents.
  • Collaborate with external service vendors and internal stakeholders and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or above, with at least 3 years' relevant experience in project management and coordination.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and spoken communication in English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua, along with strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, project management software, and other relevant tools
  • Experience in writing and publishing official documents, marketing, website development and social media promotion would be highly desirable.
  • Candidates with less experience may be considered the role of Assistant Project Manager (at the rank of Research Assistant I)
