Do you enjoy making large projects happen? Are you motivated by being part of a collaborative team? Would you like your work to help improve the workplace for researchers?
We are interested in how to improve the culture that surrounds academic research, and we are seeking a Project Co-ordinator to join the Action Research on Research Culture (ARRC) project team.
Research culture describes the environment in which research happens. There are many challenges with the research culture in academia, and universities, funders and other stakeholders in the higher education sector are exploring ways to improve it. The ARRC project is an international collaboration which is testing different approaches to these problems. The project team combines rigorous research on research with a focus on translating findings into impact across the national and international higher education sector. It is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative team, combining the expertise of researchers with other professional staff, and co-creating a range of approaches to improve research culture.
The ARRC project is a £3.5M three-year programme. The project co-ordinator will provide day-to-day project management and administrative support to ensure the smooth running and overall success of this large and complex project. This will include maintaining and developing project plans, providing financial management and costing, and coordinating engagement with a wide range of stakeholders. The role would suit someone with previous experience in an administrative role, who has excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of project co-ordination, or experience of providing support to large, discrete projects would be an advantage.
The ARRC project plays a significant role in the University of Cambridge's strategy for tackling challenges in research culture, and also involves other universities and commercial partners. More information about the project can be found on our website.
