About the position
The La Trobe Institute for Sustainable Agriculture & Food (LISAF) is a key
strategic initiative that supports La Trobe University's (La Trobe)
world‐class research and research training in agriculture, agri-food and
medicinal agriculture.
With the aim to transform the production of high quality horticultural and
medicinal crops, the recently awarded ARC Research Hub Protected Cropping (PC
Hub) sits within Domain 2. To deliver on this aim, the PC Hub requires a
Project Coordinator. Reporting to LISAF Research & Operations Manager, this
position will work closely with the Hub Directors and theme leaders to
ensuring that PC Hub meets KPIs and project milestones are delivered on time
and on-budget.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
Provide high-level administrative support to the Hub Director, Senior
Director, co-deputy Directors and Research Director.
Co-ordinate the administrative functions of the PC Hub, including
supporting the Industry Advisory Group and the Executive Management
Committee by:
Scheduling meetings;
Initiating the preparation of PowerPoint presentations; and
Preparing and distributing agendas and minutes.
Assist in the preparation of reporting documentation such as annual ARC
reports, KPIs and other documentation for industry partners as required.
Facilitate the communication and promotion of research outcomes and other
information relevant to the PC Hub in conjunction with key external and
internal stakeholders.
Assist in the organisation and coordination of Hub events, such as
seminars, workshops and annual retreats .
Coordinate financial reports and support to internal and external
stakeholders, including purchase order and invoice payment submissions,
credit card reconciliation, and reimbursements.
Facilitate HR recruitment activities by drafting position descriptions,
coordinating interviews and liaising with La Trobe HR.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have:
Degree with subsequent relevant experience or extensive experience, in an
administrative field, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant
knowledge, training and/or experience.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, follow established procedures
with limited supervision and contribute positively to an effective team.
High level proficiency in computer software packages including word
processing, spreadsheets, and presentations, and the use of these in
preparing reports and presentations and tracking expenditure and budgets.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated
customer service focus and solution orientated approach.
Experience within the tertiary sector and with research funding
administration would be highly regarded.
Demonstrated experience organising events and communicating research
outcomes.
