The Faculty of History wishes to recruit a Project Coordinator to co-ordinate and oversee the efficient running of the 'Colombo: Layered Histories in the Global South City' research project on behalf of the project's Principal Investigator - Professor Sujit Sivasundaram. The postholder will assist the Professor Sivasundaram with supervision of staff and their research work and the project's budget and logistics.
We are looking for a highly organised individual who is educated to HND, HNC, level 4/5 vocational qualification or equivalent and who has previous experience of working in a administrative/project role. You should have excellent planning, communication and interpersonal skills and strong IT skills. Experience of working in a higher education environment and awareness of work in the humanities; with ability to keep, monitor and update data and assist with the editing and publication of research as needed is desirable. You will have the capacity for independent working and ability to use your initiative (including problem solving), as well as having co-operative team- building skills and a proactive and flexible approach to your work.
