Programme Manager - Communications

The University of Oxford is a stimulating work environment, which enjoys an international reputation as a world-class centre of excellence. Effective digital communications are vital for promoting the University's teaching and research externally and for enabling staff and students to communicate effectively, share information and collaborate locally and globally.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the IT Services department as a Programme Manager (Communications) supporting the University's digital transformation journey.

IT Services is a key department that ensures that the University has the robust, reliable and high-performing IT and digital services it requires to support the distinctive needs of those engaged in teaching, learning, research and administration. We value and recognise our own and the contribution of others, creating a great culture to work in and a place where we all feel we belong.

This is a great opportunity for a Programme Manager to join the new and fast- growing ‘Engagement & Dissemination' portfolio that is responsible for Oxford's digital communications and public engagement digital services.

    About the Role

The University is currently undertaking a major programme of work to transform Oxford's Digital Communications through the development and rollout of new University web and intranet platforms which aim to significantly improve the internal and external user experience for students, staff, and the public. This is a high-profile programme of work both internally and externally: the University's website is a key vehicle via which public audiences of all types – including prospective students, researchers, donors, and visitors – engage with the University.

The Programme Manager (Communications) will lead the Digital Communications programme and will have overall responsibility for the development of the University's new web CMS and intranet platforms and their successful rollout across the collegiate University and within the public realm.

    About You

You will be an experienced Programme Manager, able to effectively lead a team working across multiple workstreams to successfully deliver a high-profile programme of work that will require significant buy-in and cooperation from stakeholders throughout the organisation.

You will have strong experience of managing the transformation of digital communications in complex organisations, including the implementation and rollout of new web CMS and/or intranet platforms and of large scale migrations from legacy solutions.

You will have strong financial, planning and facilitation skills and will be able to influence stakeholders and work effectively with staff at all levels.

    Application Process

You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement, CV and the details of two referees as part of your online application.
