Salary: UH9 £56,021 pa to £66,857pa by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience

Annual Leave: 35 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus (some teaching at Meridian House and DeHavilland sites), University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield

This is an exciting opportunity to join the School as a Programme Leader for the Specialist Community Nursing Programme within the Primary Care Team, joining a supportive and friendly academic team.

Main duties & responsibilities

The Programme Leader, Specialist Community Nursing is to lead on the strategic development and operational delivery of our well-established post-registration delivery of community children's nursing, district nursing and general practice nursing. You should have a strong commitment to developing and maintaining relationships with external partners and other stakeholders.

Skills and experience required

Your teaching approach should be flexible, student-focused, and research informed, and you should possess excellent interpersonal skills. Previous experience of teaching within a higher education institution is essential. Demonstration of module/ programme leadership is essential. You will have current knowledge of NMC requirements for specialist community nursing. You will have an awareness of the requirements for Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education and Ofsted. You will be able to demonstrate evidence of leadership, teamworking and working autonomously as well as having excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience of successful partnership working with practice partners and students is essential.

Qualifications required

You must have live registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a nurse or midwife and you should hold current recordable qualification with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Specialist Community Nurse. You will hold a master's degree or a Level 7 qualification such as a PgDip. Commitment to doctoral study is desirable.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)

Our commitment to the University's Safeguarding Policy, requires that the recruitment of staff in this area, will need to undertake the minimum of a Basic DBS Check. In the course of our work and University-led activities, there may be external or other contractual obligations where a further Enhanced Check is required. DBS Checks may require renewal in line with policy.
