About the position
In supporting the University to become a market leader, the Market Strategy
and Insights team plays a key role in the development of customer growth and
stakeholder engagement strategies. Responsible for delivering strategic
portfolio and product insights across a range of university course offers,
portfolio management and commercial analysis that ensures strong commercial
outcomes and growth against strategic imperatives.
Leveraging strong product development, product management and data and
analytics capabilities, the Product Manager will identify, develop and deliver
portfolio, product and market insights and recommendations, through
comprehensive market assessments and reporting. The role works in close
collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders including the Product team,
Schools, academics, and marketing segment squads.
Reporting to the Director, Product & Growth the successful incumbent is
expected to possess exceptional and detail-oriented analytical and
organisational abilities to demonstrate collaborative and supportive ways of
working and to deliver advanced product development and project management
skills.
Some of your key duties will include:
Undertake market research and analyse market intelligence to identify new
commercial portfolio opportunities, determine the viability and
sustainability of new products, and to provide recommendations which
ensure existing products maintain market relevance and differentiation.
Work both individually, and collaboratively with members of the Product
team, to deliver high quality, detail-oriented, accurate and visually
appealing product and portfolio market scans and assessments.
Work collaboratively with members of the Marketing team, to deliver
product updates and insights to support go-to-market activity.
Develop well-crafted product descriptions, briefs and value propositions
to ensure market resonance, and ensure product changes are reviewed,
captured and communicated to marketing colleagues.
Provide robust product analysis and recommendations that support product
enhancements and the delivery and optimisation of go-to-market activity.
Skills and Experience
Demonstrated experience working at a high level with complex and large
sets of data, and interpreting this data to develop sound educational
product and market analysis, and provide product and/or portfolio
recommendations in line with organisation strategies.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter
experts to identify or optimise product solutions that meet market gaps
and opportunities, and to communicate these solutions in highly articulate
and appropriately market-facing language.
At least two years appropriate experience in product development and
management, marketing or related area, ideally within the education
sector.
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, and creative, critical, and
solution-oriented thinking.
Ability to operate in a culture of continuous improvement, and agile
methodologies.
Ability to deliver product reports and insights through excellent written,
oral, and data visualisation skills.
