This vacancy is only open to current University of Worcester students seeking a working placement opportunity.

Have you ever wondered how the University of Worcester buys its equipment, books, buildings and services? This is your opportunity to find out more! The University's Procurement team oversees the purchase of everything the University buys from day-to-day essentials such as pens and pencils, books and computers to vehicles and gym equipment to catering and the construction of new buildings.

The Procurement team are part of the University's Finance Department, and we are seeking a current University of Worcester undergraduate student to join us for a 14-month placement as a Procurement and Sustainability Assistant with a likely start date of July 2024.

This is an exciting role in a busy and diverse part of the Finance team. Your role will involve maintaining accurate supplier records, assisting the procurement team in the acquisition of goods and services, scheduling tender responses and interrogating spend data to enable the University to report accurately. You will also undertake due diligence checks in line with University Financial Regulations and help maintain central records in Sharepoint and the Oracle Finance system.

The role will also involve supporting the Procurement team in the growth of our social and sustainability reporting and the preparation of data to monitor our carbon emissions in the supply chain.

You will be required to speak to internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis so good customer service, communication and written skills are required.

This role will provide you with some great experience of working in a busy and varied office environment and give you some valuable experience of working as part of a team.

Candidates are asked to include an up-to-date CV with their applications.

Informal queries in relation to this role are welcome, and should be directed to Lucy Smith, Senior Procurement Officer, by emailing [email protected] or calling 01905 855118.
