Don't pass up on a great opportunity to work in the University of Alaska's Procurement & Contract Services department as their Student Office Assistant. We are looking for a dependable and motivated student to join our team!

    Duties:

    Assist the ProCard Administrator. Data entry and compliance reviews of University ProCards. Create spreadsheets and documents using Word and Excel. Research and answer inquiries using the Banner Financial System. Perform typing, filing, scanning, faxing and copying. Provide general information to the public (i.e. answer questions, direct calls, etc.). Provide backup reception duties as needed. Support Procurement staff with various projects as needed. Other duties as assigned as skills and knowledge of the Procurement office is developed.Essential

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially with Excel, Adobe, and databases.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment.
  • Ability to enter data accurately.
  • Good people skills. Ability to greet the public cordially and tactfully. Ability to work with a diverse population - staff, faculty, vendors, and the public.
  • Attention to detail with good organizational skills.
  • Possess good grammar, spelling and typing skills.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Ability to learn Procurement & Contract Services office policies and general structure.
  • Preferred Experience & Education:

  • Sufficient experience to perform the responsibilities of the position and to have acquired the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Experience working with the public.
  • Experience filing.
  • Familiarity with general office procedures and equipment.
  • Possess organizational skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially with Excel. Experience/knowledge of Adobe and databases, preferable.
  • Required Experience & Education:

    Applicant should be enrolled as a UA student in a minimum of 6 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.0, or a newly enrolled student.

    Salary Information:

    This is a part-time, temporary student assistant position up to 20 hours per week while school is in session. Additional hours may be available during winter/summer breaks. Starting pay rate is $11.34 per hour, DOE.
