Base salary will be in the range $98,582 - $107,349 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 7)

We are seeking a motivated Principal Research Technician to contribute to overseeing the conduct of major research projects at Population Oral Health at UQ (POHUQ). The particular focus of this role will be the MRFF Oral Health in Aged Care Project and the Queensland Child Oral Health Study (QCOHS).
As the Principal Research Technician, you will work as part of a senior research team to provide high-level, specialist technical research expertise to scientific research projects, programs and initiatives.
Key responsibilities will cover core technical/scientific research, safety, leadership and management, training and supervision, and research administration. This will include, but is not limited to:
Coordinating research fieldwork activities and contributing to the design, implementation, evaluation and modification of research methodologies and/or protocols
Managing complex aspects of research housekeeping, and leading the development of a proactive safety culture
Training and supervising junior research assistants and technicians
Undertaking comprehensive literature reviews in support of research outcomes
Managing compliance with approved research ethics protocols

Completion of a post graduate qualifications research, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
Demonstrated research-relevant knowledge and skills with expertise in a wide range of specialist and general research techniques at all stages of the research working in large scale population-based research projects.
Expertise in the application of data collection and management programs.
Leadership skills, including the ability to supervise and develop more junior staff.
Significant experience of working in team environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to produce clear, succinct research documentation and the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of research and scientific staff within population health research.
