  • About You

    The Power BI Developer is responsible for designing and developing high quality business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. The role works closely with stakeholders to understand their business requirements and translate these into technical specifications and developing reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights to facilitate data-driven decision-making within ITS. They will be part of the Data Platforms (earlier Business Intelligence) team.

    They will be responsible for all aspects report design, development & support using existing in-house data toolsets – Microsoft Power BI & Data Virtualization tool – Denodo. Knowledge of cloud technologies and solutions, particularly AWS stack is desirable.

  • 2+ years of designing and implementing Power BI solutions
  • Ideal candidate will not only have a strong command of Power BI but also possess a deep understanding of business needs, can design sophisticated data models, and create compelling and insightful visualizations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data architecture and broader business intelligence concepts.
  • To be successful in this position, you'll have as a minimum:

  • Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in designing Power BI solutions around BI projects.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, and M Query language.
  • Strong SQL skills for data manipulation and extraction.
  • Experience with data warehouse concepts and ETL processes.
  • Expertise in selecting and implementing effective data visualization techniques for clear and compelling reporting.
  • Expertise in creating and optimizing complex data models, including relationships, calculated columns, and measures.
  • Demonstrated commitment to staying updated with the latest Power BI features, industry best practices, and a proactive approach to continuous skill development.
  • Highly motivated with a positive and proactive approach, and a demonstrated ability to take accountability for delivering quality outcomes working in an Agile environment.
  • Strong work management skills including the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously and demonstrating excellent planning, problem solving, trouble shooting, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent inter-personal and written communication skills with the ability to write quality technical documentation.
  • Preferred Skills:

  • Power BI certification Desirable (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
  • Experience in Snowflake will be highly considered as a bonus
