Position description

A postdoctoral researcher position is available at the University of California Merced for a motivated, creative, and enthusiastic individual with expertise in molecular dynamics simulations. Experience with reactive molecular dynamics simulations is desirable. The postdoc will work in the research group of Dr. Ashlie Martini using simulations to study the properties of surfaces and interfaces. Specific responsibilities of the postdoc include (i) designing, conducting, and analyzing molecular dynamics simulations; (ii) reporting research results in the form of journal publications and conference presentations; and (iii) mentoring graduate and undergraduate research assistants. This may be a multiple-hire recruitment.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

Applicants will have a PhD degree in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
