This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious Postdoctoral Researcher to join a research team led by Professor Adam Mead and contribute to a leukaemia research project focused on the characterisation of immune responses in children with juvenile myelomonocytic leukaemia (JMML), a rare form of blood cancer occurring exclusively in children.

The postholder will work closely with Dr Eleni Louka (NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer) and focus in screening and mechanistically validating key disease targets through in vitro and in vivo disease models. The postholder will have the opportunity to work with cutting edge single cell technologies including 10x mutli-omics, single cell genotyping, spatial transcriptomics, multiparameter flow cytometry and CRISPR screens, while have the opportunity to learn how to use bespoke single cell computational pipelines developed in the Mead lab.

You will hold a relevant PhD/DPhil (or be close to completion: thesis submitted at time of application) together with some experience in a field relevant to the project. You will have sound laboratory experience and a thorough understanding of basic scientific principles. Experience of relevant laboratory skills e.g. molecular biology such as PCR and preparation of libraries for next generation sequencing, preparation of primary cells and tissue culture, flow cytometry and cell culture will be essential for the role.
