Applications are invited for a fixed term research position on Lattice Boltzmann Methods for Compressible Multiphase flow. The position is part of a Leverhulme Research Grant and a collaboration between the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, University of Greenwich, and the School of Mathematics, Cardiff University.

The successful candidate will be based at the University of Greenwich and develop a numerical model based on the lattice Boltzmann methodology for computing interfacial flow phenomena with weak compressibility. The candidate will be expected to derive the mathematical model and perform numerical experiments to assess its predictive capabilities.

Applicants with a PhD in mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science, or a related field are invited. Experience with computational fluid dynamics, numerical simulation and scientific computing is essential. Previous experience of lattice Boltzmann methods, multiphase flow, and high-performance computing is an advantage. The successful applicant will need to collaborate across institutions and disseminate their research to the international community, so strong communication skills are required.
