This is an exciting postdoctoral opportunity to be part of an ambitious research and engagement programme on one of the most high-profile environmental issues. The postdoctoral position is 100% research. The successful post-holder will demonstrate a strong track record in environmental economics.

Providing sufficient financial resources and prioritisation is among the greatest challenges facing nature recovery.

As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Environmental Economics, you will be working with a team of multidisciplinary researchers to conceptualise, develop and understand economic mechanisms and institutions that can limit biodiversity loss and promote nature recovery.

In addition to this work, you will have an opportunity to work on:

a) designing markets and contracts can support nature recovery.

b) designing and piloting technologies and tools that are able to reduce information asymmetries between providers of capital-seeking investment opportunities and nature recovery projects and programmes

c) developing approaches for assessing how to optimise the use of public and philanthropic funding to leverage private funding and finance into nature recovery

Reporting to Alexander Teytelboym, one of the Co-Investigators in the Leverhulme Centre, the post holder is an emerging leader in their field and brings to the post demonstrable research and teaching skills and expertise in environmental market design.

We welcome applications from individuals who have successfully secured a tenure-track position and express a desire to fulfill the role for a period of 1-2 years.
