About the role

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Organic Chemistry to work under the supervision of Professor Véronique Gouverneur for a period of up to 12 months. The post is funded by the ERC.

The project involves research in the area of synthetic fluorine chemistry with sustainability in mind. The aim of the project is the development of novel fluorination methods for the preparation of fluorinated molecules using cost effective sources of fluoride including alkali(ne) metal fluoride.

About you

Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry (or be close to completion) prior to taking up the appointment. The successful candidate must have expertise in organic chemistry, solid state chemistry and advanced spectroscopy.

You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to coordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will test hypotheses and analyse scientific date from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining working hypotheses as appropriate.

The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Chemistry Research Laboratory, 12 Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA and is available immediately.
