Postdoctoral Research Assistant - DPUK

Department of Psychiatry, Warneford Hospital, Oxford OX3 7JX

We are looking to appoint a postdoctoral research assistant to join the Dementias Platform UK (DPUK) team to work on an NIH funded linked research programme on the psychiatric health implications of the Covid-19 pandemic. This is a multi-site project carrying out aligned collaborative projects with colleagues in partner institutions, and research groups. The post is based in the Psychiatry Department, University of Oxford, at the Warneford Hospital.

The post is for a fixed term (funded for 12 months with the possibility of an extension) and is full-time.

Reporting to Associate Professor Sarah Bauermeister, you will provide analytical and subject matter (psychiatric health) input in multi-site group meetings, proactively providing input on the scientific workstream of the project. You will manage your own academic research, administrative activities and small-scale project management to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will prepare working longitudinal analytical theories and analyse large cohort quantitative data from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining theories as appropriate.

You will have or be close to the completion of a PhD in a relevant health or medical sciences subject. Experience and evidence of working on collaborative projects with multiple international stakeholders, including demonstrable skills and ability to communicate (verbal and written conversation) with diverse academic and scientific communities is essential. You will also possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the psychiatric health discipline to work within research programmes. A multi-disciplinary scientific background and previous postdoctoral research experience would be desirable.

You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement and a CV as part of your application.

The closing date for this post is 12.00 midday 4th June 2024.
