Position Summary

We seek a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the UCC Marine Geosciences Research Group (https: // www. to finalise the NOMANSTIF project outcomes. NOMANSTif has developed and applied semi- automated tools to delineate seabed geomorphological features culminating the release first high-resolution 110,000 km2 geomorphological map of most of the Irish continental shelf: Shelf Seabed Geomorphology Map (ISSGM v2023).

To complete the project we are seeking an experience postdoctoral researcher to address either

or all of the following tasks:

- To apply deep-learning (fully-convolutional neural networks) to further refine existing codes for morphological analysis and classification.

- To develop finer scale geomorphological studies of key areas from extant seismic and seabed mapping data.

- To assist in the editing of book- format Geomorphological Atlas of the Irish Shelf.
