Research Associate/Postdoctoral Researcher (x2) - Bioinformatics/Genomics Data Science, 1 FTE, School of Mathematical & Statistical Sciences, 010788

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for two full-time, fixed term positions as a Research Associate/Postdoctoral Researcher in Bioinformatics/Genomics Data Science within the School of Mathematical & Statistical Sciences at the University of Galway, Ireland.

These positions are funded by DTIF/ADAPT/HEA North-South awards and are available immediately until contract end date of 16th October 2026, (with the possibility of extension subject to funding availability).

The university plays a leading role in Bioinformatics and Genomics Data Science nationally, and is the lead institution of the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Centre for Research Training (CRT) in Genomics Data Science.

These posts are based in the Ó Broin lab , which has research interests in the development of infrastructure and algorithms for the analysis of biomedical data, with a particular focus on cancer genomics. We are seeking two highly motivated researchers to join existing teams working on the following projects:

  • The development of cloud-based neoantigen prediction algorithms and pipelines for cancer immunotherapy approaches

  • Graph-based approaches for the analysis of integrated longitudinal clinical and multi-omic liquid biopsy data

  • Salary: Research Associate/Postdoctoral Researcher salary of €44,846 - €57,332 per annum, (subject to the project's funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.
