Research Associate/PDR - Waste water systems, 1 FTE, School of Engineering and School of Natural Sciences, 010337
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, fixed term position as a Postdoctoral Researcher or Research Associate within the School of Engineering and School of Natural Sciences at the University of Galway, Ireland.
This position is funded by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland and European Union (Horizon Europe) and is available from 1st June 2024 to contract end date of 31st December 2025.
The successful candidate will undertake life cycle assessment and other sustainability analysis on novel aquafeed ingredients produced in the EU Horizon Europe-funded project SAFE- SmartAqua4FuturE and the SEAI funded ACET project. SAFE comprise partners from EU and non-EU nations in addressing the integrated and sustainable freshwater bioeconomy by combining aquaculture, biodiversity preservation, biotechnology, and other uses. ACET focuses on measurement of greenhouse gas emissions from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) in Ireland and associated life cycle assessment.
Salary: Postdoctoral Researcher/Research Associate salary scale €43,907- €56,202 per annum, (subject to the project's funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.
