The laboratory is involved in understanding the underlying molecular mechanisms of complex diseases using genomic data. The work focuses on the analysis and interpretation of sequence data from African descent patient samples, with the goal of generating the knowledge to provide improved insight on Polygenic risk scores (PRS), risk assessment and stratification, improved prognosis and ultimately improved outcomes in the population. This person will work collaboratively with other experts in genomic data analysis, computational biology, and medicine to design implement and refine genetic epidemiological analyses that improve our understanding of the etiology of human diseases and health.
