About the role

This role is eligible for the Campus Services New Starter bonus (£1,000) and Campus Services refer a friend bonus.

The Residence Life team at University of Bath have a vacancy for a full time Porter (36.5 hrs). Working within the Campus Services department, you'll have a key role in helping students transition from living at home to fully independent living and ensuring all our accommodation users have the best possible experience when staying with us.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that all refuse and recycling bins are emptied and cleaned
  • Keeping grounds and bin stores clean and tidy at all times
  • Supporting the collection, distribution, storage and recording of linen
  • Cleaning communal areas such as stairwells and windows
  • Replacing equipment and furniture as required
  • Assisting in removals and moving large items
  • Completing visual inspections
  • Following Health and Safety procedures at all times
  • This role involves working on a 5 over 7 rota. Cleaning is required in some areas at weekends, therefore there is an expectation to work weekends on a rota basis. Weekend rota work requirements apply mainly during the summer peak period.

    Working hours are 9am-5.20pm and the role is based at the University campus in Claverton Down (BA2 7AY).
