  • About This Opportunity

    This is a fantastic opportunity to provide high level administrative support for management and coordination of veterinary science and veterinary technology student placements/rotations in the School of Veterinary Science.

    Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide accurate advice and support to staff, students, and external stakeholders, liaise with program directors and clinical units, and allocate students to placements based on various methods while ensuring compliance with University policies.

  • Process elective applications, coordinate placements with clinical units, and maintain accurate records of student placement agreements.

  • Use and adapt to corporate and bespoke software, develop and implement standard operating procedures, and enhance workflow efficiency in student placements.

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensure the accuracy of University databases, websites, and publications, and generate reports for placement-related tasks.

  • About You

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

  • Understanding of WIL placement processes (or ability to learn quickly), ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in written work.

  • Ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgment, and take initiative in problem-solving.

  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team and across organisational units.

  • Commitment to high-quality service and the ability to engage empathetically with students, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Experience in student administration within a tertiary institution, along with familiarity with university systems (e.g., Microsoft Office, SI-net, Business Objects, InPlace, CRM systems).

  • The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre- employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check, AHPRA registration, mandatory immunisations, first aid and/or CPR certification, blue card check, etc.
