About the roleWe are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our busy Placement Team.
Undergraduates have the option of taking a one-year work placement in industry as part of their degree. You will play a vital role in maintaining strong professional relationships with current placement providers in an industry facing role whilst also proactively sourcing and developing opportunities to generate new placements.
You will act as a point of contact for undergraduate students, academic staff and employers, dealing with enquiries and providing guidance. A major part of the role is to provide employability support to students on a one-to-one basis and so good written English skills are essential. In addition, you will be required to deliver skills workshops and talks and must be a confident, lively presenter to communicate to the student audience.
Placement Officers host companies on campus as well as visit them on site to promote the placement scheme. You could be building relationships within industry sectors such as construction, research and finance This is a rewarding role supporting high achieving students at the start of their engineering careers. This is a full-time, open-ended position starting September 2024. We are open to considering 0.7 or 0.8 FTE.

About youWith excellent organisational skills, you will demonstrate a good use of initiative and have the ability to multi-task and prioritise a high workload. Attention to detail and good administrative record keeping are essential. We work together as a team to achieve overall results and you will need to be a good team player.
An interest in learning about and working with engineering disciplines and industries would be beneficial.
