Lab graders provide assistance to the lab instructors in grading PHYS 2019/2219 and PHYS 2029/PHYS 2229 lab assignments.

This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.

Required Qualifications

Must be a current student at Weber State University.

Individuals interested in applying to be a lab grader must have completed a Trig- or Calc-based physics course with a laboratory section with a grade of B or better.

Lab aides for first semester introductory courses must have completed a lab accompanying PHYS 2010/2210, and lab aides for second semester introductory course must have completed a lab accompanying PHYS 2020/2220.

Applicants should have an interest in physics as well as in teaching others. A basic understanding of data collection, spreadsheets and computers skills is necessary. Good understanding of scientific and math concepts is necessary.

Lab graders may need to complete training sessions on a regular basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Physics experience preferred. Hiring preference will be given to Physics & Astronomy Department majors and to those who have worked previously as Physics & Astronomy Department lab aides or graders.
