Applications are invited for the role of Personal Assistant to the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Sciences Cancer Theme Co-leads. A major focus of the Cancer Theme at NDPCHS is building relationships to deliver projects focusing on the improvement of cancer management in primary care with direct impact and patient benefit. To do this the cancer research theme works closely with patients, primary care professionals, cancer charities, researchers from other universities, NHS commissioners, companies working on new diagnostic tests, and cancer specialists in the hospital setting.
The successful applicant will help ensure the smooth running of the Cancer Theme's work by providing excellent administrative and secretarial support. Responsibilities will include being proactive in identifying priority items of business for immediate attention, extensive diary scheduling and management of a large volume of email, managing events/conferences, providing full administrative support for financial matters and working flexibly to provide other administrative support to the team wherever possible.
You will have previous one-to-one PA experience, be self-motivated, proactive and able to organise and prioritise your own work without regular supervision or detailed instructions. You will have advanced skills in office IT systems and the ability to solve problems and troubleshoot.
You will be based in the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work but you will be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.
The position is full time and fixed-term until 30 November 2028 in the first instance.
