Department of Psychiatry, Warneford Hospital, Oxford OX3 7JX

We are looking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher to join the Oxford Centre for Human Brain Activity (OHBA) as a member of the OHBA Analysis Group. Reporting to Mark Woolrich, the post holder will also work in close collaboration with Matt Brookes at the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre, School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Nottingham and Cerca Magnetics Ltd. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford.

The post is for a fixed term (funded for 24 months) and is part-time (80% FTE).

OHBA is part of the Wellcome centre for Integrative Neuroimaging (WIN) at the University of Oxford (including FMRIB) housing a suite of MRI, MEG, EEG and stimulation technologies, alongside associated research experts. WIN-OHBA is installing a new, state-of-the-art magnetoencephalography (MEG) scanner for imaging brain function that uses the new technology of Optically Pumped Magnetometers (OPMs). You will primarily help develop and apply new machine learning methods for analysing data from the OPM-MEG scanner.

You will have or be close to the completion of a PhD in Neuroscience, Engineering, Physics, Maths, Computer Science or relevant area. Experience in data analysis, particularly using machine learning, statistics/Bayesian probability is essential. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to mentor and supervise research students and assistants as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Experience in deep learning and the analysis of multi-dimensional data (e.g., space/time) would be desirable.

You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement and a CV as part of your application.

The closing date for this post is 12.00 midday on 28 May 2024.
