Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications Position Summary

The camp nurse assesses campers' needs when presented. Provide appropriate treatment on a timely basis. Check campers' forms for parental consent. If no medication or treatment is listed, call parents or others listed on the form for permission to treat. Call M.D or 911 if necessary. Send to ER. Make sure all forms completed and sent to the doctor or ER with the camper. Document treatment is given.

  • Prefer completion of an approved nursing program or Georgia nursing license.
  • Driving as needed to perform job duties.

    Duties/Responsibilities

    Assessment of campers/participants of 4-H events when experiencing various symptoms.

    Percentage of time 70 Duties/Responsibilities

    Providing appropriate treatment for symptoms presented.

    Percentage of time 25 Duties/Responsibilities

    Receive parental consent forms, placing calls to MDs, sending patients to ER or placing calls to 911 if necessary.
