MS, MFA, or equivalent terminal degree in industrial design, digital product design, UX/UI, or related discipline is preferred. Will consider candidates who have a BA/BFA in these fields, plus extensive relevant professional experience.

Required Related Experience

• Demonstrated utilization of Autodesk Fusion 360 in the product development process. • Demonstrated ability to teach software to individuals with a range of prior or technical knowledge. • If teaching remotely, familiarity with organizing and delivering materials via video-conferencing platforms.

Ability to deliver in-person or online instruction, and possibly to meet students in person to review physical output of course.

Job Summary

The Department of Product Design in the College of Design seeks applicants for a part-time faculty position to teach PRD 151: CAD II. As the second of three CAD courses in the PRD curriculum, this 1-credit course focuses on learning Autodesk Fusion 360. In addition to training students in the use of this CAD package, the instructor should be able to bridge concepts of software skill acquisition with design process. The College of Design has digital fabrication equipment to support some physical output from course lessons and learning objectives including 3D printing and laser cutting.

• Curriculum Vitae highlighting product development experience and CAD knowledge. • 3-5 links to project examples where you've utilized CAD for product design or development (include links in a document uploaded as Specific Request 1) • Names and contact information for two (2) references who can speak to the candidate's teaching abilities and specific CAD experience/knowledge.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
