The Department of Humanities at Roosevelt University seeks to hire part-time faculty in Women's and Gender Studies to teach mission-aligned, introductory- level courses such as Gender Justice, Gender Debates, Global Voices, and Politics of Sex.

The College of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences, with a faculty of over 120 committed scholar-teachers, provides students with a strong liberal- arts foundation as well as more than three dozen innovative courses of study emphasizing interdisciplinarity and civic engagement. The College of Arts and Sciences offers courses on Roosevelt's Chicago campus, Schaumburg campus and online.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

A Master's Degree in Women's and Gender Studies or related field, preferably with 1-2 years of prior experience teaching at the university level

Preferred Qualifications

PhD in Women's and Gender Studies or a related field with this area concentration. Experience working with at-risk and/or first-generation college students.

Experience and/or published writing through contract, freelance or regular employment in the field.

Working Conditions

Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds).
