Oxford Brookes University is looking to recruit an experienced, reliable and highly motivated Painter & Decorator as a member of the Estates team to undertake planned, preventative and responsive maintenance across residential and academic buildings within the University Estate, working on both commercial and domestic buildings. Painter & Decorator play a proactive role within a motivated and innovative team, delivering key objectives to meet directorate and university wide requirements.

Working hours for Painter & Decorator
This is a full time post which is 37 hours, typically Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm, but Oxford Brookes is supportive of flexible working, part time working and job sharing. Applicants who would like to have a working arrangement like this are encouraged to apply for this post.

Overall Purpose of the post of Painter & Decorator
To carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance of all the University's Estate property portfolio.
Undertake adaptation/repair and reactive, planned and preventative maintenance work, including when necessary problem diagnostics, of all building (non- services) areas across the University's estate, in compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience for the post of Painter & Decorator

Qualifications: A recognised apprenticeship in building services, painting NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification.
Experience: Significant post apprenticeship operational experience in chosen discipline plus proven practical multi-discipline operational experience in other building maintenance areas.
