Mount Royal University's Faculty of Continuing Education has provided high quality education to the Calgary community and beyond for more than 75 years. Serving more than 30,000 students per year, we offer a suite of Ministry of Advanced Education-approved programs (occupational programs in massage, personal fitness trainer and funeral education; academic upgrading; and our Transitional Vocational Programming), over 60 programs and 350+ courses to support professional and personal development in a wide range of topics, and our Conservatory (which offers a broad range of music and speech arts programming). Our courses cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to business, technology and health. These courses are offered in a variety of formats on campus, online, in the workplace, and in the community.

About the Role

The Operations and Market Analyst plays a crucial role in driving strategic decision-making within the Faculty of Continuing Education. This position is responsible for utilizing various market and labour forecasting tools to evaluate current and emerging demands, identify skill gaps, and recommend new or changes to existing programming. Additionally, the analyst will gather and analyze marketing data to enhance campaign effectiveness and research competitor strategies. With a strong focus on operational efficiency, the role engages with stakeholders to identify challenges, analyze processes, and implement improvements. The analyst will prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations, support project implementations, and provide training on operational processes. Overall, this position is integral to ensuring the faculty adapts to changing educational needs and market dynamics while fostering collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze market and labor trends to inform organizational strategies and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and evaluate the relevance and value of programs through data- driven analysis.
  • Develop reports and presentations to communicate market and operational insights effectively.
  • Conduct detailed research to support business process improvement and program development.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and integrate relevant changes into operational practices.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to improve operational workflows and address market needs.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for operational and market relevance.
  • Act as a change management ambassador, implementing updates and adjustments to policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize workloads in response to urgent deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Work with and communicate findings and recommendations clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies and external regulations.
  • Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • A three- or four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills for managing independent work and complex tasks.
  • Proven experience in market and labor forecasting or similar analytical and research related tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills for building relationships and conveying insights effectively.
  • Proficiency in platforms and systems used in post-secondary, such as Destiny One and Google Suite.
  • Experience in change management, including adapting to and implementing policy and procedure changes.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of work with a sense of urgency.
  • Familiarity with business process improvement methodologies and tools is an asset.
  • Salary: $60,571 - $76,640
