Job Summary Angelo State University invites applications for a full-time, open-rank faculty position in Social Work. The successful candidate will teach courses in the B.S.W., M.S.W., and/or D.S.W. programs; engage students in research and professional development; and contribute to the continued growth and accreditation of the Social Work programs. The anticipated start date is January 19, 2027.
Essential Duties
  1. Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Social Work.
  2. Maintain an active program of scholarly or professional activity.
  3. Advise and mentor students and support their professional development.
  4. Involve undergraduate and graduate students in research, as appropriate.
  5. Participate in departmental, college, and university service.
  6. Support program development, assessment, and compliance with CSWE accreditation standards.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of current Social Work practices and CSWE accreditation standards.
  • Ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Ability to conduct research and engage students in scholarly activities.
  • Ability to contribute to program development, assessment, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and university leadership
Minimum Qualifications
  • MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited social work program with two years post graduate experience;
  • Doctorate in social work or related field for Assistant Professor applicants. ABD/ABC candidates will be considered if the degree can be completed within the first year of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional licensure or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience with CSWE accreditation.
  • Experience with program development in an academic or non-academic setting.
