Job Title On-Call Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab Technician

Job Summary The On-Call Diagnostic Medical Sonography ( DMS) Lab Technician will be responsible for the maintenance of laboratories outside the functions of Information Services activities. This includes working with faculty and the administrative assistant to order and stock supplies for laboratories and setting up laboratories for class and for special events. Additionally, the On-Call DMS Lab Technician will assist faculty with laboratory instruction.

Job Duties The On-Call Diagnostic Medical Sonography ( DMS) Lab Technician will perform the following job duties:

  • Prepare lab for planned student activities.
  • Assist Instructor with any needs before, during and after class.
  • Clean up lab after student activities are complete.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies for specialty area of the lab.
  • Adhere to FERPA policy regarding student confidentiality.
  • Must comply with OSHA guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

    • Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree.
  • Ability to secure the Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) Certification within one year from hire date.
  • Ability to maintain and work in an imaging lab.
  • Ability to communicate effectively by computer, orally, or in writing.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience.

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Office Environment: This role may involve being in a stationary position in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse (or applicable equipment) and telephone. Communicating and exchanging information with individuals electronically or in person. This role may involve moving objects of up to 10 lbs., and on occasion, up to 25 lbs.
  • Noise Level: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
