Network Engineer (at the rank of IT Officer/IT Technician) in the Clinical Trials Centre (Ref.: 526735)

The Clinical Trials Centre (HKU-CTC) is a leading clinical trials management platform established under the University of Hong Kong LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) and is dedicated to managing and facilitating international- standard clinical trials on new drugs, medical devices and medical technologies. HKU-CTC offers long-term development opportunities to passionate talents who pursue career advancement and success.

We are seeking a high calibre IT professional to join our Information Technology Unit as a Network Engineer. Candidate with higher qualifications or more experience may be considered for appointment at the rank of IT Officer.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop the overall server/network infrastructure and its related services
  • Administer servers, firewalls, user computers and other network equipment;
  • Monitor the performance of the deployed infrastructure;
  • Provide emergency support;
  • Identify vulnerabilities and optimize performance; and
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or IT related disciplines;
  • Solid skills in FortiGate firewalls, Microsoft Windows Server and Client, Microsoft Active Directory;
  • Knowledge of scripting to automate tasks and experience in Linux server administration will be added advantages;
  • Proactive in learning new technologies and tools;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese.
  • The appointment will be made on a two-year fixed-term full-time contract, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
