  • Position Summary:

    Join the Education & Public Programs team at the University of Alaska Museum of the North. Museum Education & Public Programs facilitate learning opportunities and experiences for people of all ages. Be a part of our team!

    Duties:

    10Other duties: Provide general support to Museum Education & Public Programs.Essential

    40Educational Programming. Assist with planning and conducting educational programming (family days, special events, field trips). Set up and tear down for programs, staff programs and events, creating a welcoming atmosphere for children and adults, assist in creation of content for programs.Essential

    50Objects and database work. Cataloging and photographing specimens and objects, updating database records, processing loans.Essential

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Attention to detail is important. Experience with database work preferred. Knowledge of Alaska natural and cultural history desired. Background in Education or Interpretation desired.

    Preferred Experience & Education:

    Full time UAF student in good academic standing, graduate or undergraduate.

    Required Experience & Education:

    High school graduate. Some university coursework.

    To be eligible for student employment at UAF, a student must: a. be enrolled in the university system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or b. for employment between semesters, have successfully completed six or more UA credit hours in the preceding semester and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester; and c. have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average.

    Salary Information:

    This is a part-time, student position and starts at $14.96 per hour.
