We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative scientist with a background in molecular and cellular biology.

The post holder will investigate molecular mechanisms underlying human disease using a range of in vitro models. You will provide support to the team and to help develop improved experimental approaches to detecting gene and protein expression . Experiments will focus on cellular biology of cells with altered IL11-LKB1-AMPK signalling to investigate changes in metabolism. Specific emphasis will be placed on studies of cells genetically engineered to disrupt the IL11 signalling pathway.

The successful candidate must hold a PhD or equivalent. Experience with one or more of molecular biology, basic cell biology, histology and the use of primary cells is essential. Evidence of understanding of cardiovascular, metabolic diseases and LKB1/AMPK signalling pathways is a proven desirable.
