About the Role The Modelling for Policy Lead will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of model-based studies on endemic, epidemic, and emerging infectious diseases in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
This includes evaluating the benefits of alternative strategic deployments of vaccines and other countermeasures.
You will coordinate the synthesis of model findings, produce reports and publications, and provide day-to-day oversight and mentoring for graduate research students.
Your responsibilities will include:
Who We Are Looking For You will possess a PhD in applied mathematics, mathematical biology, statistics, biostatistics, computer science, epidemiology, or an equivalent qualification.
You have experience in producing computational code for mathematical models of biological systems, using languages like Python, R, or C++, as well as experience working across academia and government, developing and communicating modelling outputs to support policy decision-making.
